Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to David and Amanda! Next week is Melanie's and she can't wait, and then John's. He is trying to be so patient and informs me that people should be able to do whatever they want on their birthdays! So I asked him what he would want to do and he said play the "game cube!" Funny.
We made David a "Swimming Pool " cake because he loved the pool he grew up with and misses it! Amanda's cake I called "Having Fun!" It is a bed with 5 little girls having a good time at a sleepover or something. Amanda was very impressed with my skills! It was fun to make. David's cake was alot harder but they were fun. Happy Birthday to Ruth and Rick this month as well as Dad!! We love you all.
David was excited to get the game "Scotland Yard" for his birthday! And his very own hairbrush that says "do not remove!!" Dad would know all about that, right dad? I remember how you used to walk into the girls bathroom and quietly remove the brush or comb that belonged to your bathroom and we sorta got the message! It was funny though because your uncombed hair reminded me of Barney Fife's hair do! Dad, you're a good sport.
Amanda was given some material to make her own Sunday dress!! She is very excited to do this. Can you believe I am actually posting? Yep! I decided to do it while the bread is rising-now onto the ironing!! Love ya'll.

You are the winner of the mother-of-the-year award. Those are awesome cakes. How did you think up the 5 girls in a bed? You accomplish so much. What a fun thing for them to have on their birthday, even more important - for everyone to eat. I want the eye gumballs and the swimming pool jello. Or whatever they are. Mom

And, I think you should have let David really dive into that and film it. Funny!

Awesome job, Barbara. I love the pool. How did you make the 3d body-portion of the girls covered up in bed? Course, problem now is that you have just opened everyone's eyes and set a high standard for all birthdays to follow! If i was John, I'd be asking for a "game cube" cake, or a star wars cake. Great job! --Scott

Extremely amazing cakes! Looks like you're gonna be getting sick of cake by the end of this month... your May is like our June-everyone's birhtday + our anniversary makes me sick of cake by the last birthday.

What? You want to make all the cakes in June for me? Your generosity is AMAZING.

Wow! Look at those skills! I am lucky if I can frost a cake without the frosting ending up with little specks of cake in it! :) You should try attaching David's brush with string or something to the drawer like it has an old-school telephone cord, then it won't go missing! I think Rick's thinking about doing that with the dental floss, Linc loves to hide that in vicarious places around the house.

P.S. Thanks so much for the bread recipes, they turned out fabulous. Best bread I've ever made (although I definitely still have some work to do, practice makes perfect though right?)

Okay Scott, here's the 3-d secret to the girls in the bed. I used twinkies and cut about 1/4 of the flat side off. I used half a large marshmallow for the pillows-and vanilla wafers for the heads. It really was cute and she did not want us to cut it. That was the problem. And I should have put 6 girls in bed because they all wanted one. You should try it. The twinkies make it awesome. I saw one cake recently where they had three of those bodies with the heads to the center and they were in sleeping bags and had made a campfire in the center and put two trees on the cake. That was really cute. Love ya'll, and yes Becky I am very good at making large belly cakes!! So if you haven't had that little boy yet by the time it is your birthday I'll make you a mother to be cake!!!

Well, I just finished showing these cakes to some of the Brasilians and their comments are "she is so creative" "how did she do it"? What they do not know is that each of you, all the daughters and daughters-in-law have such great talents and what a blessing it is to have our grandchildren grow up in families where there is such a feeling of love, teasing, and shouldering one anothers burdens. I even had one ask what the shouting was all about with the football team. I had to explain that out of all the 150 sports, this was number 149 but they won!!!
David, you looked just like you were ready to take the dive. How fun. However, I can't believe you hit the 43. She must not have been able to find another "3".
