Santo Casamenteiro Brooks

Hi our dear Family-
We have had the busiest week ever, and it isn´t over.
Monday was busy at the office,(meetings with the DTA and office paperwork) FHE monday night, Tues we went to the office then to the SRE (Employment Resource Center) where Dad and Elder Steadman did a refresher course for people who want to meet the employers who are coming to the center on Saturday with the intent to hire - the kids are very excited. (This is ONLY for members this week- trying to get them employed) This went from 2 in the afternoon to 9 at night. We got home at 10:30, Wednesday was the same hours at the same place, and So is today, but we can´t stay because we are getting about 10 missionaries at the MTC and have to leave here at 4:00 to arrive there on time. They are always brand new to the country and culture. (I can totally relate to them.) Then on Friday, we go with the mission president to meet a former missionary companion of Dad and Pres. Woodward (at the airport) go to dinner with him, and back. Saturday, our P-day, we are the program for the Saturday night large group meeting for American missionaries. We are supposed to stay there at night, but we probably won´t just because of the effort of taking a suitcase and all the materials too. Then is Sunday, I´m giving the SS lesson, and next Sunday the RS lesson for sisters.
But I wanted to post on the blog the recent office picture. Here in the Association, Dad and Elder Steadman (mostly Dad) have met up with some pretty awesome young girls, and also some pretty awesome young men teachers or former Elders at the ERC, but they are not in the same area, and they are all single, looking for a faithful, active companion. So---- Dad is setting them all up with someone he thinks they would like according to what they have talked about. So, talking up a storm to the girls, he has set 3 of them up with young men who are working at the CTM as teachers, and we are having lunch with them in succession to introduce them to each other. So, Sonia, the gal in charge of the office here sent this picture to Dad, (actually they posted it on the wall behind his desk. She wanted us to send it to you so you would know that we are not coming home, (we´re Saints) since he is doing such a good job. They cry everytime they think about us leaving. Especially the girls they tease so much.

Unfortunately, it was a powerpoint and I can only get the picture on the blog. Along with the picture there was this sentiment: QUER CASAR??? É QUE ELE QUE TEM QUE FALAR!!!!! SANTA CASAMENTEIRO BROOKS (And a little marriage drawing.)
Translation: Do you want to get married? It is He that you have to speak to. Holy Matchmaker Brooks

Then, here are some photos of the buildings on Paulista - the street where we teach the CASP courses (Employment classes) and some of the students there. It is an amazing area in the middle of the financial district of São Paulo. The ERS is on the 4th floor of the building behind where I stood. Forgot to take a picture of it.

Love you all so much, and NO, we will not stay forever even if they want us to. They are truly awesome wonderful people that we love so much. Our greatest desire is that you also know them, but I know all you who served missions feel the same about your people. The gospel is wonderful, the worldwide church is amazing, and lives and countries are changed for the better. Hooray for Missionaries. We love them.

Awesome post. I'm glad we have a chance to hear about your week. I figured you were on the beach sipping lemonade enjoying the sun. Looks like things are motating. Being busy makes days and weeks fly by. Enjoy it, the end always comes sooner than you think.

At least the motorcyclists are wearing helmets! Way cool buildings. Tons of concrete and glass. Makes you wonder how they packed it all in so tight...and it even looks really clean. It's pretty cool making friends in other countries huh? It will be a sad day to leave them I'm sure but you'll be able to keep in contact with them and i'm sure they won't forget a cool couple like you two.

Reminds me of "Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match; Find me a find, catch me a catch......"

Good job, Dad! Good luck to both of you on your lessons in church and all the teaching you will do this week. You are so busy and doing so well.

The people are lucky to know you and learn from you. And you are lucky to know them and learn from them, as well.

Love you lots,
Jana
