...and my cheerleading skills come in handy once again...

Last day of school. Yes, I am glad to have them all home for the summer. I am quite sick of having everything done by 8:00a.m.
The kids thought wanted to throw a party, but they were afraid to ask me. Caleb slyly and cautiously brought it up, "Mom. Sometime we should have a party because it is the end of school. And also it would be fun to have a friend at the party." He looked away, knowing for sure I'd say no, but he laid it all out on my bed for me anyway (it was 6:00 am, on the last day of school).
Fine.
But you can't just have them come and watch a movie. You have to do something. So, five extra kids later, they had "the best time ev-er". You should have seen the lame-o games that we played that they were so excited about. Simon says (Sez, if you're from Coolidge)! Mother May I! Hide -N-Seek! Bean bag toss! (I was going to use "peep" and "I had a little doggy" as very last resorts.)
The sick moment of the night was when a boy hid in our GARBAGE can. Lid closed even. I always forget what cubscout aged boys resort to just to win a game. So, hopefully his mother thought to bathe him when he got home. The squalor they must think we live in to have him coming home smelling like that!
When is everyone else out?

What a fun party! Caleb and Eric have the funnest mom ever, I can't believe they thought you'd say no! Those games sound fun! I think you should have tried "pin the tale on Nathan", with the non-stop energy that kid has you would have had everyone entertained for hours! Especially with a caffine mint or two! :)

OK yes you are the perfect mother, and of course I mean that. But then your children are at that 'perfect age' where dumb games are so fun. Wait until they're teens. "Jump the river" will cease to be the best family night or birthday party game. It will be replaced with "I'm on my cell - get out" Moral of the story: No cell phones. Mom
