Congrats to you guys who answered my question/request. That yellow thingy next to my mom's head is the underside of Amanda's shoe. I think she was experimenting with kung-fu or something..trying to get them to back off.
so the story behind it is we took a trip one lovely summery day and went to Gartmorn Dam (because you do those kinds of things because it's rare to get a sunny day in Scotland.) We had bread for ducks and swans, and we came down the dip of the grass and lo and behold, there were over 25 swans. They were not the 7 swans a-swimming from the 12 days of Christmas. No way jose.Somehow they were blessed with the power to read our minds -or our hands- and knew the bread we had was for them. They were going to get it too. So, what did they do? CHARGE!!! in a sophisticated-like birdy way. My mom ran for safety, hopping on the picnic table and hollerin' my name. What was I supposed to do?
I took a picture!
They had Amanda surrounded too and Spencer and Alissa off to the side. John was the only intelligent one really and he was a good 10 feet away. I don't know where Melanie was.Anyway, last time John tired to feed a swan it hissed at him, so he keeps away now. It was a....interesting..start to the day! I saw a new side of Mother; the help-me-because-I-don't-like-the-position-I'm-in-that-swan's-gonna-eat-me! side.
Gee I sure hope I'm not in trouble posting this. =D

What a fun day Amber, I bet that would have been very commical to see the Murdoch family in "Swan Distress"! I wish we had a video of the whole thing! The Larsens could have submitted it to their favorite show "America's Funniest Home Videos". Wonder if you can send it in if it originated in another country? :)
So, Amber - cute story, you should write books or something-but who won the name contest. I KNOW it was me. Didn't you like my title?
Grandma
I see a true photographer- one who can lay aside all emotions so you can say "but look at this shot"!
(and it was WAY worth it.)
You are so funny Amber. Please hurry home so you can entertain me.
