So I found out that Jon Schmidt was performing at Thanksgiving Point and asked Alex if that could be my early birthday present! He wasn't as excited as I was at first, but once we were at the concert we were having a blast!! He is such a good performer and knows how to entertain the crowd! He even threw out mini fat boys in the middle of the concert once he found out BYU WON!!!!!!!! Way to go COUGS!!!
Waiting on the grass for Jon to arrive!!!
And Guess who else we saw there?.....................
Well Alex and I were waiting in line outside the gate talking and I just happened to look up when I saw...
YES Barbara!! And Alyssa (and her 3 friends)! It was so exciting. So we let them cut in line with us and it was fun to be with them also!!!
Such a cute picture!!
And Here he Is!!!! Woo-hoo, Alright Jon, Whistle Whistle!!! Is what Alex said when he walked out on stage!!! (ok maybe I did!!)
The piano he plays on (and I'm sure he owns too) is a Fazioli! Way cool piano. Mom you should definitely invest in one of these! Some of the pictures didn't turn out right because of the bright lights on the stage.
He is playing a piece lying down on his back on the piano bench! It was AMAZING!!! So funny and couldn't believe he could actually do it!
This is Jon and his Celloist that have been playing together for 10 years now and is amazing! His name is Steven Nelson! Look him up, he is a way cool guy!
Then I was determined to get a picture with Jon and tried to find him after the concert but couldn't find him, until we were walking out and saw him signing people's CD's and Music Books, so we stood in line for about 30 min and....
Whalah.....
We talked to him for a few min and is a way nice guy! He even said to me, "Hey love the hair"!
My response, "Yes it is the celestial hair color"!!! (he too has red hair!!!!)
I tried to post a video we took of him playing but it wouldn't upload... Sorry We'll have to show you another time!!

That looked like fun. Not as much fun as I had watching BYU beat OU, but looks like a heck of a lot of fun. What kind of a performer actually will talk to you for a minute or two afterwards. That's awesome! He does just seem to be a normal guy, with an extraordinary amount of talent.
Sometimes I play our Kanabe (I know, you don't know the make of piano, but anyway....) exactly like Jon Schmidt but totally different. It embarrasses ReNae knowing I've only played now for 2 months. JK. LOL.
Awesome post guys. Can't wait to see him myself in concert.

Hence. . . . . . . . . (use voice affects here to the tune of 'My Favorite Things') "Karina's our sister who gets EVERYTHING!"
Hey Rick, you knock'in the 'ol Kanabe???????? Shoot, that old thing can hang with a Fazoliooolleeo anyday!
Thumbs up!
ReNae
Ha ha Very funny pinky!
You are so funny - both of you. Karina & Alex, so glad you got to go see him and his humor. And to know that Barbara and Alissa went too is fun. Congrats to all of you for the fun concert.
The concert was so cool, and i came out of it with a really sore chest because we sat right by the speakers and they were booming the whole time. the ground was even shaking.
karina-you spelled my name wrong! i love the picture you took of us! i still can't believe you were there as well!
alissa
Oops sorry! I was just so excited to type your name that the "i" and "y" are right by each other and must have accidentally hit the other button! I still love you tho! :)
Aunt Keena! (a certain 5-yr. old that doesn't want to see his name in print here calls you that on purpose, thanks to Lincoln, but wants you to know that he really does know your real name--)
We enjoyed viewing these pictures of your fun evening and seeing Barbara and Alissa, too! You all look so cute!!!!
