It's a miracle! Not that Dallin took State at the Jr. High Championships in Richfield, but that I'm actually posting to the blog. Today I was off and decided to try all the passwords I could think of that I've used in the past along with combinations of any e-mail address we've had and finally connected on the right combo. Just couldn't bring myself to call Scott one more time and ask for an e-mail invite and start all over for the umpteenth (I think mom uses that word most often in the fam) time. Anyhoo, It was an exciting 2 days in Richfield. Dallin made it to the championship bout and they had all the wrestlers line up under the north bleachers and called them all out one at a time for their weight class through the smoke and strobe lights and shake hands with their opponent under the spotlight in the middle of the floor. He wrestled a kid from Delta and won by decision 9-3. Ruth was so nervous trying to record the match from the upper level of bleachers and has vowed to turn that duty over to a non family member from here on out. It was definitely a long 4 1/2 minutes. They do three 90 second periods in the Jr. High division. Actually the match was longer since the kid from Delta got a nose bleed from a wicked cross face in the first period and used up some of his injury time to recover which gave us a chance to tell Dallin to "sweep the leg", just kidding, that's a karate move that backfired and Daniel son (Miagi talk) still ended up winning anyway. Ruth quit recording before the referee raised his hand. Oh well, I still love her anyway. Finished the season with a record of 43-8. One of the pictures is with his coach who has been involved for 15 yrs. with the program and will be moving on to focus more on his high school son who took 2nd at State this yr. He asked me to be the head coach next year so I've been doing lots of reading and video watching and recruiting several others in town with way more experience than me to help out. Ruth gets to handle all the money and bracketology for the local tournaments and ordering the singlets and doublets and triplets for the team. Now we have track and soccer (hard for me to endure with all the ties) coming up for Miles, Ally and Dallin.

WOOOHOOOOO - Back in the will!!! Man what a miracle - the sea has parted, the rain has come, and the fire has consumed the offering. Life is complete. Thanks for the great post - and RENAE- I thought Dad and I would die laughing at your totally funny comments that are so back in the Coolidge Sport days. I don't think certain girls would want to remember. I just wanna know about the coublets. Are they for that girl wrestler on Dallins team, and if so, who are the triplets for? Mom
I drempt I was eating shredded wheat, and ate and ate 'til dawn. But when I awoke, it was no joke, my Brazilian mattress was gone!
Am I dreaming or what!

Dallin, you have FIRE in your eyes. There is nothing better in wrestling than to a. stay off your back, b. help the ref hold up your hand when you win, c. stand on the highest step to receive your medal and d, just remember this when you have an emergency and they stop the match so you can go....., and when all the stalls are full, make sure the guy you pull off is smaller than you! That was your Uncle Rick and Uncle Jared's key to success.
Thank you for the great memories and the many more that we will have over the next 6 plus years watching you wrestle and your Dad taping his ankles. And yes, Mom's never settle down until well, they just never do when their sons are on the mat.
good poem mom!!! or dad?
Dallin...Man you are a stud! you just look the part. I remember seeing uncle rick on a podium like that, only once though and he didn't look as studly as you. Plus he was probably checkin out the mad maids instead of cherishing the sweet moment of telling all the other guys to "move over cuz i'm going to the top step" and then accidentally pushing a few of them off! Congrats to David too. Man you just landed the coolest job ever. you think they'd pay me enough to move down and assist? I only know one move though, it's called a Dong Cheem. Don't think anybody's seen that one on the mat yet, well there are other versions actually but none as sophisticated as the one i've got, just ask Havi!
yeah dallin, when all else fails, just dong cheem it up - you'll be sure to win!
That's so awesome, Dallin! Way to go! I really don't know much about wrestling but you come from a family with lots of wrestlers so that's good! I remember Uncle Rick teaching you a move last summer.
And, David, HELLO....finally. Man, I thought you didn't even HAVE a computer...or know about this new fandangled thing, called the "internetS".
David, They are all just trying to ruffle yous feathers a wee bit! And Dallin, we think that is way awesome-course I already told you that the next morning when I called to see if you'd won. My favorite Mat Maid cheer for all ya'll who don't know what mat maids do--we yell "P-I-N pin that man, ya did it once you can do it again P-I-N!" And then you do that CHee Dong that Jared was talkin bout at you've won!!!If it waren't for dem Mat Maids I don't beleive that the wrastlers'd do so well. (say dat wif a Texan Accent!)
Whatever!! It's way too late here and I should be in bed, but I couldn't help but check the blog just in case there were new posts, and lookie there! You all know what I saw. You've all said enough comments, so I'm just reminding you that I'm usually last and bring up the rear! (I wasn't referring to cheeng dongs either). Well, I guess we haven't heard from Becky, so we'll just wait a few more.....it'll be good, I'm sure.
Welcome to the blog, David, and congrats to Dallin!! See, it was your kids that finally brought you here :)
