What we've been doing, part II

For the last two months, Bruce and I have debated on going on a little trip to California to play on the beach and go to Disneyland. My opinion was the trip would be "too expensive, Nathan would hate the constant transitions all day long, he would be cranky/not nap well, and further more -may I remind you that no stroller has been able to contain our little bundle of joy". And I refuse to put a leash on my child.

Bruce: "But. . . he's always like that. "

(Why wouldn't he want to spend the money on something lasting, like a photoshop program for me?)

(And where do you find a swimsuit in October?)

So, here we are, at the self-proclaimed "Happiest place in the world": Disneyland. I now happen to think that that is true, as long as you are not two years old, or the mother of the said two -year- old.

(Standing in line for the Jungle Cruise)

Kara, when all of her dreams came true: she bought the Sleeping Beauty set with her own money. Oh, and she lost Aurora on Thundermountain Railroad the next day.

Caleb's all about Pirates, now that he's been on the Pirates of the Carribean ride. I am sorry I ever bagged on Disneyland like I did. I really had fun on all the rides- I still am amazed that I didn't get nauseous, since I have hated spinny rides my whole life. And I loved hearing Kara scream her lungs out in shear terror as if she was moments from death- and then say at the end of the ride, "Let's do that again, Mom!".

Eric's wildest dreams coming true: a Lego store. I knew this would be his reaction as soon as he saw it, and he didn't let mama down. Next to paper airplanes, I abhor legos. Save us both some time and switch that last post from paper airplanes to legos. And no, I will not be making a mobile anytime soon.

I am still trying to figure out why the store is so cool. Is it the colors? Choosing a different style of a lego car to build? I want to convince him that since he liked this section of the lego store so well -if he were a girl - he'd like the fabric store just as much.

Tots never quits moving enough to get a clear picture. I could put up more pictures, but in this store was a giant giraffe, a Darth Vader, R2D2, and an entire city built of legos. "Quilts hanging on the wall of the fabric store", if you will.

Here's a good transition to the Nature of tots (because this picture was in nature).

a.) Loves monstro, the scariest beast out of all the cartoons Disney produced. He currently owns three assorted monstros.

b.) Tends to dominate in social situations, with the notion that "he saw the slide therefore it is his slide". He's quite mad that Kara is going down his slide. Why, oh why, do they not teach a logics class to two-year-olds? Yes, I told him it belongs to Goofy. "It is not Goofysswide! It is Nafan's!" I love contradicting him just to hear him be so emphatic. "It issss".

He is daring anyone else to go down his slide! He growled (like monstro) at anyone even attempting. He was like a giant: Fee Fi Fo Fum! And do you know what? It worked. Not another kid dared to go down. The traffic jam at the top of the slide is what I should've captured, but I trust you'll take my word for it.

And it came to pass that he waxed tired of waiting for a kid to go down. And he stood like this until it was time for this:

(I told you he hates strollers)

Great, Becky, even better than the first! I really like reading how Nathan speaks. I can totally picture that. Give him a squeeze for me!
