Lincoln Miles

Thanks to Scott, I now have a login to this blog and can actually post stuff! We could never remember Rick's information (he always uses crazy Hungarian passwords that I can't figure out and then he forgets what he used).

So you all know now that Lincoln Miles was born Christmas Day, what a wonderful present! We will never receive another Christmas present better than this, we are so blessed! I was talking with ReNae and we decided it is quite odd of the 3o days he had left before his due date, he decided to come on Christmas of all days! But we couldn't be happier.

He's a little tike... 6 lbs. 3 oz., 18 inches. But the way he is eating now, that surely won't last long.

This is one of his first pictures. Besides a bit of swollen eyes, we think he looked pretty cute already. Rick was so surprised when the doctor said, you can see his head, do you want to see? Rick said sure and then looked up at me and said, "He has black curly hair!" We were all betting on a red-head, but I guess the dark hair (and skin) overpowered. Besides being dark though, we think he looks more like Rick. You can't see them all the time, but he has started to smile every now and again and he definitely has his Daddy's dimples! (I was praying for that!) :)

Here are some more pics...

Can you believe how little his hand is compared to Ricks?

This is a very proud Daddy! :)
Kara got to be the first cousin to hold Lincoln. She was so cute with him and so excited! Becky will have to post her pictures of Kara too, I am sure they turned out better than our unprofessional snaps!

We can't wait to get Jill and Lincoln together! We hope everyone had a fun Christmas and New Years. Love ya!

Guys, this is Rick. Feliz Cuplianyos! Te Amo to all of you cute little Brookses!

CONGRATULATIONS, Rick and Mickenzie! That baby is sooo cute! But coming from you both, he couldn't be anything BUT soooooo good looking! :)

How weird about being so early. Was he in the NICU or anything like that? He seems so healthy and big enough. Hmmm, interesting.

Good luck on being new parents! I didn't realize how little sleep I would get or, I guess, NOT get. But it won't be like that forever. I remember waking up, feeding, and heading back to bed looking at a window thinking, "People aren't made to be up at night like this. It's not healthy." It made me thankful for all those dr's, truck drives, etc. that DO stay up all night. Anyway, good luck! You'll be (and are!) great parents!

Congratulations, again!

Thanks Kathy!

It is totally weird that he was that early. He was completely healthy, he didn't have one issue or complication. I personally think that my doctor was off on my due date. The due date that he gave me put me at a six week cycle, so I think I was actually two weeks further along, which would have put Lincoln at full term (37 weeks).

I don't think this no sleep thing is normal either. I haven't got a chance to think about it too much yet because it seems at night I wake up, feed him, head back to bed and before my head hits the pillow he is ready to eat again! (Okay, it's not that extreme, but feels like it!) ;) Hope we can get on a schedule soon!

Thank you, guys, for posting pictures of Lincoln. I have been waiting for these. What a sweetie! My babies were NEVER that small. How fun. I would love to come over and hold him. You are doing great, Mickenzie. It's an adjustment, yes, but so worth it, huh? Have you taken him anywhere yet? It's amazing how many people will notice you now and make comments now that there's a little cute baby for them to look at. Enjoy him and give him a kiss for me :)

Awesome, RIck and Mick. My favorite picture is the one of Leenkun holding rick's pinky finger. Very cute. Love you guys! Sorry we couldn't drive through that way on our way home from California - we really wanted to see you and the new baby.

He is definately cute. It's always fun to see what our siblings kids will look like. Amen Kathy to the sleep thing! I'm always amazed at how long our bodies will keep functioning on such little AND interupted sleep. Keep the pictures coming you guys, they are so fun to see, and I love his name and that he has such DARK hair! You luckies! I guess my light hair has been the dominate gene here.

By the way you all - Mickenzie doesn't even look like she had a baby. She works out at the gym at 5:00 a.m. 5:00!!!!!!!!! Now that is pure dedication, and I couldn't even think of doing that at 1 week from birth. I was still sitting on doughnuts and taking Sitz baths. I guess the new generations is just better built. However, I still had you all in spite of getting flabby and fat. Aren't you glad? Mom

Mom, why were you sitting on doughnuts instead of eating them?
