Halloween Tricks!!!!

If you come to our house, you'll likely notice this rather large creepy arachnid hanging above your head as you ring our door bell. Aside it is a large web, with two baby black spiders dangling hungrily beside you.

And you'd be really glad that the large one is W-A-A-A-A-A-A-A--A-A-Y up there,

But wait!!!

the door opens,

slowly.

No! It can't be! Say it isn't so!!!!

Yes!

It's coming for you!!!

On adults, this spider lands right at head-level. It's pretty funny, because fancy, stuffy, high-falutin folk will show up at our door and it is so awesome to catch the expression on their face when that spider comes down, right on them! We rigged it up to drop as the door opens. Downright creepy!

The two hungry baby spiders (not pictured) move up as the big one comes down. Most people are watching the baby ones move up-- and then it's too late-- the big one's already in their hair.

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!!

I wanna come trick-or treatin to your house! I wanna get attacked by that spider, too. What fun you guys have made for your kids!!! So.....did you make that spider, or what?

No, I could never make that! I can barely stand to touch that sick thing. I got it at Target or Walmart a few years ago.

Nathan gets mad when we shut the door now, because he loves to stare at the "spiiiii".

Well then, let him! At least he's not scared of the "spiii" (cute! What else does he say?) And how the heck did you guys get that thing up there? And secure the mooning dummy in that position? Just wondering because one day I'm gonna do it!

Hey Eric and Caleb and Kara--what are you guys going to be for Halloween? Is Nathan going to dress up too?

What about you, Jessica and Joseph? And the Murdochs? And Jacob and Sam? And Karina?

Man Rebecca... You really do get everything! But we still love you too musha!! Maybe alex and I will suprise your kids and come trick or treat! Or maybe we can somehow get rid of the pumpkin man, and alex can pose like that and we'll jump out at kara when she walks out the door!!! Wish we were living up there!!

The kids are all excited for their costumes this year.

Eric is going to be an astronaut. (He wanted to be a race car driver & I found one at DI for 4 bucks, but it wasn't what he had in mind.) We tried to convince him to be a crashed race car driver & we'd find an old steering wheel & glue a stickshift to his head & put tire tracks on his face, but he hated that idea--"I would never crash".)

Caleb- Either Calvin & carry hobbes, eragon, a mummy, or Harry Potter-- we'll know 5 minutes before, I'm sure.

Kara & Nathan are easy- Beauty & the Beast. (So appropriate for nater tots!)

I'm going to post what Cosi & Chris wore to our Halloween party last week-- They went as nursing home caregivers & dressed their two babies up as old people. It was AMAZING!!
