haggis? Scottish meatloaf? "sausage"?

Just one answer please ... which answer do you want to use?

Probably haggis...tho I have never seen it, only heard about it. But then again, maybe it is something surprisingly good, like..........cake! I know, only one answer at a time, but hey, it's not like I'm always on the blog!!!!

It looks like some form of beans.

I think that, because I once went to a food storage HFPE meeting and they made all kinds of concoctions out of beans: bean fudge, bean-pecan pie, dilly dip, bean cake... Bruce was suspicious for the next few weeks.

"Meatloaf", uummmmm...
That's my guess, or at least the Scottish version of what we know as meatloaf.

My guess is it's some kind of cobbler dessert. If not that, then haggis, which I've been hoping you would make just to try it. Maybe Spencer caught one of those hedgehogs, and it's hedgehog soup, but too thick. Right?

I think it looks like old dried up 7 grain cereal. Or 9 grain... which ever you choose! Ummmm Hot cereal!!

Who is royals pal anyway and what does that nicky name mean?--Barbara
Personally I had to leave the room when I smelled this stuff!!

Bruce and Becky said...

Come on Karina-- It's time to divulge your kindergarten crush! I can't believe the older siblings have never heard about Royal. I mean, you guys were practically bff for 4 years!

Yes, Yes I am well aware of setting myself up for "Buster" comments from ReNae, but that was some true love right there, so please be easy with my heart. . .

Oh geez, I know what it is!! I've had it before and believe me we've never had it again! It's wheat berries that you soaked one night, had for breakfast the next morning and got too busy to clean up and found it the next morning. So, you flipped it upside down to serve to one of your scotties for dinner cuz they wuz bad that day.... Am I right or am I right!

Hey, all this talk of Royal's pal and buster (yes, it's coming becky) well we musn't forget about the rest then!!!! Marnae lewis, Howard Esterlein, Armando pissano, Boogy :), Linda Garcia AND Annie Manzenedo, Antone, Amberlee Mudd and last but definately not least, malcolavarter AND kayoleenonicowapeepeecacapoopoostinkylani!!! (The last two as you all know were hot after scott, rick and jared!!) Isn't High School great!!! love, renae

Ha! You're funny ReNae. But i think you have it wrong when you say the last 2 were after rick and jared and I, because Elise only liked Rick and Jared, and I think Kayola-nani cowahepe-coupalani (tahitian Noni?) Harris was a boy, not a girl, or am I mixing up the Harrison's children's names? Plus, isn't it a bit unfair that you left out all the guys that we could tease YOU about?

And the winner is … anyone that said Haggis!
It is the best stuff you’ve ever tried. Unfortunately most of my family wouldn’t try it, but those that did (and didn’t lose their lunch shortly thereafter) really liked it. There are lots of different recipes for this delicacy, and this recipe was okay, but a bit on the spicy lumpy side. We’ll keep looking for the butcher that has the best recipe in Scotland!
Now, how do I split £10 between all of you? -- David

Kayola-nani-kowahepe-coupalani was Definately a girl. Yes, you could tease me of quite a few, but they jsut aren't as funny as the rest of them, you'd have to admit...well, maybe Steven Frasier, but that's all. It all boils downs to - no one was as cool as Buster Lacey!!!! umm, umm, umm!!!!

Bittings said...

ha ha good one pinky! you make-a me laugh! However, you forgot to mention Rebecca's favorite... Johnny Vasquez. He was always tryin' to give her a smooch! And I still can't figure out why she wouldn't ever go for him. He could color, write his name, make tapine, was an usher in church, worked 20 years in "my-ama" now retired and not to mention world's best pool player!

rickandrenae said...

I know, tell me about it! Forgive me yet I have not forgotten!!!! She could have gotten far with that one! And let's not forget all the fun prizes he could have won for her!!! All them watches and clocks from those pool tournaments! Shoot, she could have been stylin, but instead she decided to live in some old home in Ogden. That's probably why she decided to become a nurse - all those blood sugar tests she so kindly aided him in! Man Becky, you do get everything don't you:)

Bruce and Becky said...

For crying out loud! Would you guys just go to your ROOM! (I am waiting for mom to tell you guys that. The cool thing about the blog is that it is not tattling if mom can read it FOR HERSELF!) C'mon, mom, this time you KNOW I didn't do anything wrong:)

Okay, Murdochs-- Haggis it is, but your picture of haggis needs a little help. I think you need a picture of all of you TASTING the haggis. . . am I right, guys????

murdoch family said...

man you guys are wierd! what's all this talk about kayoleenonicowapeepeecacapoopoostinkylani???? what the heck??? i guess im just into the guys in JH since im not in HS yet... but still.
and jus so ya all know... the haggis wasn't that bad. it took me about 5 min to get that glop onto my spoon and into my mouth. but the texture, dude that was enough to make me throw it back up!! no joke. i couldn't be in the same room with it after that. dad may have a hard time makin me try some again!! you're all invited to come to our house for dinner tonnight!! we're havin hamhock!! miss ya!!!

I think Royal's Pal should change their name to "yippy skippy." Does anyone know what that means?
hee,hee!--Barbara

Unknown said...

Hey, I figured that stuff was Haggis.

Fun to hear from you guys - keep posting more interesting things to the family blog.

Kemble Family said...

You are all a bunch of dorks! But I'll still claim you all since you're so dang funny! ReNae's comment about that Harrison girls's name made me laugh tears! I've had my medicine for the day now. And Alissa, I know it took you a long time to respell that name, huh? You had to go back and read ReNae's letter and it was a PAIN!!! It is all good fun.

Nope, I don't want any haggis, thank you very much. But thanks for the entertainment.

Love you all, Jana -----and Eli ejpo9`123456678899900olbvvvvvvvcccxxxxxxxxxxxxxxzsssssaaaadfffghjkl;'

Man you guys are something else. I guarantee that none of those people renae mentioned are talking about any of US on their family blog. Then again they probably don't even have one. And cacapoopoostinkylani wasn't after anyone, she's younger than karina! (i think)
