Gingerbread Destruction

Kathy and I had some friends over last week for a "gingerbread" date night. We had soups for dinner, had a little white elephant gift exchange then did our graham cracker "gingerbread" houses, of course. It was fun. We weren't going to be able to get back together for New Year's celebrations, so we opted to blow up our houses that same night. Our friends really loved the blowing up part! Thanks to Kathy's brother-in-law, this tradition is growing and growing!

I used bubble-tape to create "aluminum siding" on my house. Kathy of course won the most creative and "pretty". One of the couples, the Smiths, made a "rest-stop Mens and Womens" bathroom building. It was pretty funny. Another couple, the Robinsons, made a "double-wide" trailer, complete with bunny-ear antenna and broken down cars out front. here are some photos:

We only used one firecracker per house - everyone was amazed at how far the shrapnel flew...Maybe we can do the same at the "Cottage", during Christmas?

OK, Scott, I like your hairstyle, too. Nice and simple. And those were great houses you built. How was the clean-up? Messy? Did the neighbors complain? I bet they wish they had thought up such an event......Bye!

Nah, it wasn't too bad of a clean up job. the shrapnel did go pretty far, but we had a couple 'o push brooms and got most of it cleaned up. There was still a lot of candy out on the road for about a week.

One neighbor did comment that we seemed to be having a good time that night - we forgot to call our neighbors and warn them about the loud noise beforehand, but they didn't seem to mind.

PS - I like kathy's hair too, and that she mixes it up once in a while. You know ... keepin' it real and all. Jana, you sort of HAVE to like my style, because it's REAL close to Jay's style. :)
