I had always wondered and yesterday, my fears were validated: As the mother of FOUR, I really am running a circus. Actually, Eric and Caleb and a few of their friends were pretty bored after school & homework yesterday. They also decided that they needed more $$. So they figured out that they could plan a circus to make money, just like the school carnivals.... It was awesome- They handed out invitations, all handmade announcing this Circus that would start promptly at 6:00p.m. It would "only" cost .25 for admission, but Eric was sneaky and got our fruit snacks and gogurts and put them at his cashier's stand so Kara (and other kiddos in the neighborhood) would want them-- for 50 cents!! (This is where the grandpa Brooks buisness genes run thick). They also invited kids from other neighborhoods on the phone. You should have seen all the excitement. They rode around on thier bikes "no hands" style, closed their eyes whilest going off of jumps, and basically acting like monkeys. I've never seen a more entertaining circus in my life. An encore show will be tonight at 6:00 p.m. for anyone interested-- but ya gotta bring .25 cents!

That's hilarious, Becky! Man you've got some savy entreprenuers for kids. Wish I could see it! Hey, film tonight's encore presentation, then show us during the Family Reunion...
one of the acts should be Caleb reciting all 50+ scientific dinosaur names he knows.
C'mon, Becky, all of us knew you were running a circus a looong time ago!:) This is new to you?
What a GREAT way to rid boredom, and it is fun and entertaining, TOO! Beats sitting around watching cartoons anyday! Good job, Eric and Caleb, and good job, Mom, for allowing it to happen.....they will remember this!! Jana
So how come they never did that when we were there? We never get to see anything circussy.
Wrong! I forgot that we really ran a circus ourselves years ago. It was Becky cutting her toe in the ditch, Karina falling into a chair and breaking her nose, Jared slamming his toe in the car door, Scott showing off his caterpiller in church on the front row, David getting on site suspension for putting a frozen rattler on the teachers podium, Jana jumping to the ceiling because Dad threw a potholder frog at her, Barbara writing all over the walls of our friends new home, Rick doing tricks on his Honda Shadow and ending up with no face, Rick doing tricks on his skateboard and ending up with no face, Rick crashing the frontloader at work and almost ending up with no life, etc etc, Scott and Rick and Jared shooting arrows through the windows, ReNae driving the car into Palmers pickup, Scott driving the car into Bro Niu's car, Scott drowning baby ducks, Karina going to Hot Wells and running away from a wreck she was in. Well, nuf said. Way to go Becky & Bruce. You are really in for it with 3 boys right off the bat.
You go rebecca!! You da bomb for having critical thinkers!! mom never let us do stuff like that, and if we did, we sure didn't do as cool as things like that. Our circus was mostly us getting hurt or in trouble! You go!! I wish I could be there to babysit those cute kids!
